My boy is 6. So we celebrated. The invitations were simple (maybe you saw them if you are following me on Instagram). I used the wording from this spy party, but simplified it some, printed it on graph paper and called it good. We hosted the whole party in our backyard. I made two giant coloring pages of [...] (My mother-in-law blowing out her candles at her birthday celebration) Between my family and Chris’ family, there are 22 people. 9 of those have a birthday in December or January. I find it hard to keep up with honoring the birthdays because it’s in the middle of the holidays (I know, that is lame!). Does [...] It’s August and there are a lot of exciting things on our calendar: My oldest starts kindergarten. My birthday. I might actually unpack all the boxes in our house. Swimming with cousins in our pool. A trip to visit Chris’ parents. A visit from my parents (I hope). And blog post #200.
I feel like celebrating. I thought about doing a giveaway… but I want [...] I saved this thank you note writing project for a time when Max was at preschool and Owen was napping so Cooper could have my undivided attention. He sat on my lap and he typed up the thank you notes on the computer. I spelled out each word for him and he typed the letters. He was [...] We celebrated another birthday. Cooper’s three-year-old birthday request included basketball, really big cake, sprinkles, and gumballs. Ok. Here’s what I came up with. Grammie, JoPa, my sister and her kiddos came in town to help us celebrate. We spent the morning at the park swinging, playing tag, and shooting hoops. We had a picnic. The weather was beautiful. That [...] I’m always looking for child-friendly ways of writing thank you notes. It’s never too early to learn to say thank you! This time, the birthday boy sent postcards to tell his friends and grandparents and aunties and uncles thanks for the birthday gifts. I made a 4 by 6 photo in Photoshop with a pic of the birthday [...] (If I was awesome, this photo would not be grainy!) My little super hero turned 5. How come all this growing up business happens so fast? I believe in small, low-key birthday parties. Max could invite five friends (he chose Cooper as one of those –cute!).
