thanksgiving

We ventured up to Tyler to celebrate Thanksgiving with Nana and BigE. This was a our first time at their house for the holiday. We really enjoyed our week together. First we went camping at Brookshire Lake Park. We were the only campers that night so we had the whole place to ourselves. It was awesome. WE cooked hot dogs, played on the playground and had family night around the campfire. Max and BigE did a little fishing together. We all had a really good time.

Later in the week, the boys added a new ladder to the zip line making it easier to get up and hooked on. I’m still amazed that Max has no fear on the zip line. He loves going for a ride.

Nana and BigE helped us get a family photo take for our Christmas card to send out to friends and family. Cooper would not let go of that Snoopy.

mud

For some reason, Cooper loves mud. Today he tried to blow bubbles in the mud. Not sure it worked, but he thought he was hilarious.

a new slide

Check out his great slide Daddy invented. The boys were giggling over this one. So much fun!

shoes

Cooper loves shoes. His shoes. Your shoes. All shoes. Here he is wearing a pair of my flip flops with his socks. Stylin’!

daddy’s birthday

We celebrated Daddy’s 28th birthday with his favorite kind of chocolate cake – layers of cake, cool whip, crushed oreos. The boys loved helping him blow out the candles.

goggles and popcorn

Cooper loves to wear these goggles – always both pairs at the same time.

The other day I found him seated at the kitchen table with an entire bag of popcorn. He must have picked it out from the pantry and had a seat. How is he growing so fast?!

grammie & jopa’s autumn visit

So happy when Grammie and Jopa come visit us. They were here for a whole week. Wonderful for a couple reasons. First, it’s lonely for me and the boys while Chris is traveling so we were happy to have some company. Second, they came to help with my first ever Book Bound Bindery Open House and I couldn’t have done it without them. When we weren’t getting ready for the open house, we went to the zoo (had lunch there, Cooper lost a shoe in the monkey exhibit, Max loved the sea lion show, I misplaced my car keys), drove to Pearland for Jess, played at the park and relaxed. Thanks for the orange hat, Jopa. It’s a huge hit around here. Come back soon!

It’s been raining a lot lately. I still send the boys outside to play. Today I found Cooper like this. Head to toe in mud. But he was having so much fun…

halloween weekend

We shared Halloween with BigE and Nana this year. They came down to Kingwood to celebrate with us. The main focus was to finish the sprinkler system Chris and BigE had started a month earlier – specifically to get the pipe under the driveway. Chris would want me to note here that the project would have been done much sooner except he was assigned to a new project at work making him work in Dallas Monday through Thursday every week. So that left him little time to work on it. Especially since it has been raining every single weekend! Anyway, they used water pressure to feed it under the driveway. It was amazing! They did it. We will have an amazing yard and garden next year.

Friday night, BigE and Nana took the boys to our ward party at the church while Chris and I went downtown to see Mary Poppins (the musical). It was such a fun show! We loved it. The Steppin Time song was a tap dance number and it was amazing.

Saturday night, we took the boys around the block for trick-or-treating. Max mostly enjoyed it. He was pretty spooked by one boy in particular who had a mask on. Cooper seemd tired, but we took him along anyway.

Max = dragon

Cooper = bumble bee

The dragon costume is one I wore when I was little. I made Cooper’s bee costume out of a black t-shirt and yellow fabric. His wings are pipe cleaners and tulle.
