Kids dancing…

grammie and jopa’s spring visit

We always love when Grammie and Jopa come to Texas. A few things we did this time:

- made a visit to Jesse Jones Park (and it was a little disappointing since we didn’t get to wade in the water)

- celebrated Max’s 4th birthday

- played at the park

- finished the sprinkler system, the rock path to the backyard, lots of weeding, planted petunias and marigolds and sunflowers and lantana

the boys

We do projects. We eat snacks. We rest on the floor. We make silly faces. We eat cookies. We put puzzles together. Busy day!

outside

We spend a lot of  time outside. Max loves to swing and Cooper loves to slide. We watch the birds that come to our bird feeder. The backyard is a really nice, shady hangout.

valentine’s day

Max made these awesome valentines for his friends and family. He loves projects!

Friday night, Chris and I went with a group of friends out to dinner at a Thai restaurant. Then we went to a Ward Activity that was a dance! We had fun talking with friends a dancing a little. Wish I had pics from the night, but I must not have taken my camera.

books and projects

For my Book Bound Bindery blog, I post a tutorial each Tuesday. This afternoon I enlisted Max’s help for a project we made into a tutorial for the blog. He is so detailed with his projects and will sit and sit to keep working on them (which melts this mother’s heart!). Also, I recently made 45 books for the YW in our ward for birthday presents. I really enjoyed making these. Each one is different.

fhe

After calling several times for the family to come for Family Night, these two characters finally arrived (with their scriptures!).

boys and tricks

Most of the time the boys play really well together. They will sit and work on puzzles together. But they also run around playing crazy games too. Today, I found them quietly playing with the magnet board this morning. Then later they were showing off their bicycle tricks. They used bowling pins as microphones to sing to their tunes. All the play left them tired enough to cozy up on the couch together. Cute.

business

I’ve had a bunch of custom book orders lately. I always try to take pics of my work for the blog and for my files. It’s quite a chore to get the pics taken – I have to wait for the right kinds of lighting and a time when the boys are preoccupied. But usually they are tromping around wherever I am and so I get a few pics like this one.

For Christmas, Chris built me the most amazing book press ever. He did such a good job and it makes my book binding process so much easier. He is one talented guy!

cooper bonk

Today while the boys were messing around in the nook, Cooper fell and hit his forehead on the corner of the wall. I was in the other room and came running. There was blood EVERYWHERE! I couldn’t tell at first how deep the split was but I got some of the bleeding to stop long enough to see that it was a clean split. I managed to hold him still and apply butterfly bandaids without crying. My neighbor Roseann came over and helped me make sure I closed it up tightly enough. She stayed with me until my visiting teachers came over (they were planning to come right then anyway). He is acting normal. What a relief.

Poor little guy!
