We’ve lived in our house for about 18 months now, and I finally feel like one room is just the way I like it. So that either means that my two-year-old is my favorite child. Or it means his room looked like this when we bought the house (neon aqua walls?!)
From girly tween to toddler boy…
It’s a new year and with that comes a new theme (you can read about my theme from 2012 here).
I’m the kind of person that has unrealistic expectations for myself. My to-do lists are never ending–I want to do the housekeeping, install board and batten in the half bath, and spend hours painting with my children [...]
The past few weeks were filled with all sorts of wonderful things. Mr-Four-Years-Old learned to ride his bike without training wheels. We said good bye to some of our favorite shoes. We enjoyed several rides through Texas farm country just for fun. Chris built a chin-up bar in the back yard so we can all have [...]
Almost daily, we rode our bikes around the neighborhood.
One time we rode our bikes in a parade.
Of course there were formal art classes.
And impromptu ones.
We liked to watch the sky in case we saw one of these.
Or one of these.
Storm clouds means you will soon see something like this.
We always plant a garden and sometimes fruits [...]
We have been having the best summer. Field trips around town, multiple pool parties each week, and lots of play with time with friends.
We spent a few days in Colorado with my whole family. My mom and dad are about to move to Ghana for 18 months to serve as missionaries for The Church of Jesus [...]
If you’ve been reading this blog for a while, you know that I’m a Colorado Girl. In college I married a Texas Boy. Of all the advice I received about marriage, no one mentioned that if you marry a Texan, you will live in Texas.
So now it has been six years of living in Texas. There [...]
Every other Thursday, we pick up our veggies. The box of farm fresh produce smells so good. So. Good.
We’ve been supporting a local farm, Wood Duck Farm, for a few years now by participating in their Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program.
I have vague memories of when I was a child and my mom bought in to [...]
Thanks to Continental for providing $70 round trip tickets to Denver, we got to go to Colorado for a winter visit. We got to do everything we wanted: ice skating outside on a frozen lake, sledding on an icy hill, dinner with long-time friends, ping pong-ing in the basement, racquetball-ing at the community center, and just [...]
Tomorrow is the big day. Max finished up his valentines for his class today. Rockin’, right? Last year, I drew each one and he colored them. This year, I drew one, scanned it, and then printed them out so he could color them. I’m so glad my kiddos are learning how to show love [...]
I grew up in a home where music was important. We all took piano lessons and other instruments. We sang in choir. We sang together as a family on Sunday nights. Then, I married Chris who also has a love for music. We really hope to pass on our musicality to our children.
Early in our marriage, [...]
