I’ve dedicated January’s tutorials to letter writing. To start off, I’ve made a holiday thank yous tutorial. So begin your new year with gratitude and write a thank you. Here is my quick start guide to writing your holiday thank yous.
1. Gather writing materials: paper, envelopes, addresses, stamps, markers, stickers, etc. Keep [...] We love stories around here. Especially Christmas stories. When I was in high school, my parents discovered Red Ranger Came Calling by Berekley Breathed and I have been in love ever since. The story of the Red Ranger of Mars is unforgettable. The illustrations are entertaining. I love it. Now you can love it too. What [...] Make this little memory game to play with your kiddos as part of your advent calendar this week. Or you could make a set to share with a friend. Or give as a gift to a neighbor. SUPPLIES Today I finally followed my own advice, put everything else aside, and made Thanksgiving cards with my kiddos. I won’t post photos because I don’t want to ruin the surprise for the recipients (you are out there!). So you’ll just have to imagine how much fun we had – markers, ink, paper, turkeys, baby wipes, [...] It’s time to start making the Christmas presents for my kiddos. I love this part of the holidays. I’ll keep you posted on how the projects are coming–I hope to have everything completed before Thanksgiving. But that never happens. It’s worth a try, right? I am putting together a dress up box for the boys. My [...] Surprise #1 Our shower has been leaking into the garage attic. We like to do our own home projects (most of the time) but I’m so glad we hired this one out. I was hoping the mess would be cleaned up and gone by Friday, but seeing as that’s tomorrow and there is still tile to [...] I’m always digging up new ways to keep a journal. A while back I started making these small notebooks out of left over scraps from my big projects. My kiddos love them – they are the perfect size for their laps which is good for our car trips, church services, and quiet time. I always [...] Our little neighbor friend turned 4 and we decided to make her a tutu. I should have done a tutorial for this one because it’s super easy (no sewing!) but I didn’t. However, I did stumble upon Design Mom’s tutu tutorial from a while back and it is very similar to what I did. Or [...] A few weeks ago I found an old copy of Jumanji at Goodwill. (Love this story!) I tore out my favorite illustrations, spray painted old frames white, and carefully arranged it all over the piano. How is that for $1 artwork and inspiring words? We celebrated Pioneer Day with a party (even though we do not live in Utah). And it was really fun. Crafts. Games. Snacks.
