Just a few things I think you should know…

…One of my journals is included in an Etsy treasury until Friday. Check it out!

…An online auction starts tomorrow over at Bloom to benefit Benson and Claire Skinner. Take a minute to read Benson and Claire’s story on their blog. All the proceeds will go directly to the Skinner family. Book Bound Bindery has donated 3 sets of products for the auction and I know there will be lots of other items up for bidding. What a great way to buy some Christmas presents this year – you get what you need to give as a gift at the same time you give a gift to the Skinners. Spread the word!

…Also over at Bloom, you can sneak a peek at my Christmas mantle in their Christmas Show and Tell (great idea, right?!). I love all the decorating ideas they posted.

I’m finally starting to feel spooky around here. It has cooled off a little and I’ve hung a few Halloween decorations. I even made my little guy’s bumble bee costume so we are ready for Halloween! My favorite part of Halloween is the food (surprise, heh). Last year we ate taco soup with salty bones (bread sticks) and monster belly buttons (cinnamon rolls). Not sure what this year will bring – but I better get planning!

Surprise #1

Our shower has been leaking into the garage attic. We like to do our own home projects (most of the time) but I’m so glad we hired this one out. I was hoping the mess would be cleaned up and gone by Friday, but seeing as that’s tomorrow and there is still tile to install… sigh… But I’m not complaining! We get a new bathroom! Merry Christmas to us! I’ll post pics when it’s all done. You will be jealous.

Surprise #2

The boys got a package in the mail! Charysse Levine of BookBound Publishing sent the boys 2 autographed books from her company. I first met Charysse through email because I was using her trademarked name (gasp!). I had no idea. The whole thing made me sick to my stomach. Long story made short is: Charysse is awesome. She is the kind of business woman I want to be – willing to compromise, every one’s best interest at heart, easy to talk to, and hilarious. Instead of attacking me (which she could have) she wanted to compromise. And to top it off, she sent us books! Thank you Charysse! We’ve been reading and re-reading “Sad Sam and the Magic Cookies” and “Laffy the Lamb” since they arrived.

[Lesson Learned: before setting up your etsy shop, check your shop name to make sure it's not trademarked!]

Surprise #3

This one is a surprise for you from me! I have been working around the clock getting ready for a Book Bound Bindery Open House. The big event is in 3 weeks (Thursday, November 5) here at my house. So you Houstonians get ready! Save the date! More details about the Open House are coming. Starting next week I will showcase each product that will be available for purchase at the Open House.
