It’s done. Finally.
And I love it.
I tried to find a photo of what the room was like before, but I didn’t have any luck. So you will just have to trust me that is was awful. Think of your basement where you pile all the stuff you don’t know what to do with… that’s what our room was like!
But now it’s like heaven.
We didn’t spend tons of money. Most of the stuff we already had or we decided to make. It’s amazing what a little de-junking, painting, and organizing can do. But I do know one thing: I wish I had done this months ago before I was so big-bellied. I work S-L-O-W when I’m pregnant. Oh well. Live and learn.
When you first walk in, you see this:
Paintings, photographs, letterpress prints and needle work that I’ve collected through the years from friends and family. The walls are painted Benjamin Moore’s Titanium (thanks Laurel!).
Do you see how cute that yellow foot stool is? I bought it at a thrift store for $1 and painted it. I recovered the chair cushion in a blue and white geometric print. The banana box at the foot of the bed was a gift from my grandpa who used to be in the grocery business. I keep my extra linens in there (can you believe this house does not have a linen closet?!).
Our bed. All white. A little blue. A little yellow.
Chris built our headboard with these plans from Knock-off Wood. We used the scrap wood to build my night stand.
I fell in love with that blue fabric at JoAnns and used it – even though it’s technically an outdoor canvas. I made the rosette pillow… with hot glue. The yellow blanket at the end of the bed is my gift to me for having a baby (that’s allowed, right?). The yellow fabric is a Moda print that I paired with a gray flat sheet from Target. We already had Chris’ night stand – but I painted it white. The lamps are from Pier 1.
The curtains are actually shower curtains. I followed these tips to make them hang like real curtains. Don’t you just love the night stand Chris made for me?!
And that bookshelf is the baby’s closet. All organized and ready to go. We boxed up and/or gave away all the junk that has been on that bookshelf for the past 3.5 years so baby can move in.
Just in case you are curious…
37 weeks. Come on, Baby Brother! We are ready for you!

I found your blog through a google search on your wall color. I’m looking for a perfect gray that’s not too blue and not too dark. I think I found it! Your room looks fantastic. The bed is gorgeous. We too are Ana White fans:) Love everything about your bedroom!
