[the view from our campsite last week] Hi friends. I hope your Thanksgiving was as tasty and wonderful as mine was. Now it’s time to savor Christmas. Chris got the Christmas decorations out of the attic on Friday so most of our lights on the house are up and our tree is standing and decorated. [...] I have escaped this week. I’m off enjoying family time away from the phone, computer, and my own bed. Hopefully I get to see one of these sunsets. Hope your Thanksgiving is warm. And tasty. And joyful. And accompanied by people you love. And too good to be true. And, most of all, that you and I both remember who to thank [...] Today I finally followed my own advice, put everything else aside, and made Thanksgiving cards with my kiddos. I won’t post photos because I don’t want to ruin the surprise for the recipients (you are out there!). So you’ll just have to imagine how much fun we had – markers, ink, paper, turkeys, baby wipes, paints. [...] Jes is back (she taught us why we should do this and how we can do this) with great tips for you as you write your Christmas letter this year. I usually get Jessie to write mine for me, but I’m feeling pretty confident after reading through this tutorial that this year I can do it. All. [...] I had two goals this week: 1. Relax and I’ve done a really good job on the first one: read lots of stories with the kiddos, ate lunch on the deck every day, raked leaves in the back yard, wrote letters, made banana muffins. And I [...] It’s time to start making the Christmas presents for my kiddos. I love this part of the holidays. I’ll keep you posted on how the projects are coming–I hope to have everything completed before Thanksgiving. But that never happens. It’s worth a try, right? I am putting together a dress up box for the boys. My three-year-old [...] Your apple pie will never be the same because Jenny is sharing her apple pie secrets with us today. She is brilliant and witty and very good at making delicious apple pie. Jenny and I first met on a study abroad to New Zealand while I was in college. Later, my husband and I lived down [...] Finally. Some pics from the open house. Next year I won’t wait until 6:59pm the night of the open house to take photos of everything. But you get the general idea. Journals were on the kitchen table next to the dessert counter. My Mom made pumpkin cookies, oatmeal fudge bars, cream cheese brownies and a tasty hot [...] Last night was A.M.A.Z.I.N.G Thank you for coming! Thank you for loving my books! Thank you for eating the tasty treats! Thank you for spending an evening at my house! I loved it. And I hope you did too. Husband, Mom, and Pa: I couldn’t have done it without you! Thank you!
